He prayed in the garden If it be possible Let this cup pass from me Nevertheless not as I will But as thou wilt His Father reminded Him of His purpose The disciples asked If when they came unto the Kingdom If they could sit with him on his left or right Are you able to drink the bitter cup? Are you able to be baptized with those who suffer? What is your purpose? Paul was given a thorn in the flesh From which he lived triumph everyday And he was able to say His grace is sufficient, my strength is made Perfect in weakness I count it all joy, When temptation surrounds me When I am feeling pain When I am persecuted When I am in distress Knowing that the trying of my faith Works Patience For when I am weak I am strong.. I am fulfilling God's purpose for me Hardships and sufferings May come my way But through it all Am I fulfilling His purpose? I count it all joy [This message has been edited by Songbird (edited 02-11-2001).] |

Dear friend; This is beautiful! A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

Song Bird, Your poetry is wonderfully scriptural.... I have often wondered about Paul's thorn and have been often encouraged in my own spirit that I can relate to him so closely whenever I face my personal "thorn in the flesh" to trust God that I can follow Paul's example and count it all joy... God Bless You, Bob <>< |

Very scriptual, very pure in thought and depth.... "I walked beside the evening sea and dreamed a dream that could not be." George William Curtis |
