Gently do I leave you.
For that which grips your soul,
fills my life with sadness,
and deception everywhere.

Gently do I leave you,
for my heart I must now guard.
No more will it be given,
unless it be tenderly kept.
This heart will now and ever,
only be bound in Christ,
and only to another
if he loves Him as I do!
For this His Holy Will.

Gently do I leave you.
To His tender loving care.
My hope is that he heal you.
but I his Peace must have.
I've given all the love there is,
for many years and more.

Gently do I leave you,
in His ever loving arms.

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

This is so sad, yet loving. It's a farewell that tugs at the heart, yet is surrounded by an aura of hope. Lovely!

Leaving my loved ones in the care of Jesus is the best thing I can do but, oh how I try, with no avail, to handle their problems myself........ You have described my nature at times very well through your written words.   Thank you, Bob <><

Ellie,
This is a sad but a nurtuting, healing poem, forgiving, extending blessing to the one that has hurt you, shows much wisdom and maturity. May you continue to find the peace that passes all understanding, come what may!
Very thoughtful, well written poem.
