To come into your presence
Is the gift we are forever truly blessed
We are so undeserving but
You give us your best

We are your children
And it your time
That you like to spend with us

When we are hurting
Our toys don't matter anymore
A loving father's arms
Is what we're looking for

We ask for many things
And you're a father who
Knows  how to give good gifts
But we take them for granted
Forgetting you have feelings too
That's its your desire to embrace us
To be apart of all the things we do

Father forgive us
We are children
Sometimes very selfish
Neglecting the feelings
Of the one who loves us best

Now Lord,
How was your day?
How can I help you?

I think this certainly says it best!
What a sweet way you have of expressing yourself in your poetry.
Love it much!

So beautiful, Songbird, my dear friend, Thank you for the gift of this reminder. I need His Love and I try to give Him mine. Love, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

The bigger the boys, the bigger the toys... We really never grow up that much.
We still need to hear our Daddy remind us that He loves us and that he forgives but that we do need to share those toys a lttle better the next time......  Nothing compares to an obedient child who wants to please their Father.   Love ya, Bob <><
