For days and weeks
a storm swept
through
my life.

High winds
blowing chaos
of confusion,
scattering the debris
of anger.
Flooding tears
of rain swept nights
prevailed.
Turmoil of thunders
clap,
lightening,
that fed fear,
too bright
to endure.

I prayed,
constantly.

Surrendered the storm,
that I could not calm,
to Your powerful
Love.
A Love,I knew,
that was greater
than my squall.

One bright morn,
I awoke
to the Son of Your
Grace,
streaming brightness
into every fiber
of my being.

Not only had You
banished
the storm,
my entire perpective
had altered.
I felt joy
and love
wash over me
in Gracefilled
waves of this
new dawn.

I knew, surely
that all was well
with my life,
and
the universe.

Because You Love me!

That was a beautiful way of showing how God will bring anyone through any storm. That is the power of our Lord God. And yes he is a good God. God bless.

Dear Ellie,
He whispers to us, My Grace is sufficient to weather your storms and trials. Being rooted in His grace we DO feel loved! Thoughtful and wise poem. Thanks for sharing!

Ellie,

this is a beautiful and personal psalm you've written.  I love it when people write directly to God instead of in the "third person" as talking about him.  Though those are also good in that they teach, there is something really precious and special about psalms written to our Father.

thanks for sharing this.
It holds alot of beauty.

Ellie this brought tears to my eyes. Only because I can relate so well to it. I seem to have been in this storm for way to long now. I occasionally do peek out from it, but it don't last too long.
I would love to have my "entire perspective altered."

I am however, working on making a positive change in my life. Asking God to direct that of course. I just need more brightness in my life.

This is truly a beautiful piece Ellie, and shows the strength of God

Beautiful Ellie! Reminds me of a song that goes "the winds and the waves obey His Will, Peace Peace be still"  HE has everything under control, if we just let him take the wheel. God bless.

Oh, how He gets us through those dark storms.  This is so what I needed to read Ellie.  I can feel the storms abating... Bonnie
