On this December morn
I find Your gifts,
not under the tree,
but realized
in my heart.

Till now
I have been disgruntled
with winter,
my heart longing
for spring.

As I awoke,
this winters day,
still dark predawn,
I lit the fairy lights
that are strung
upon the rose arbor
in my garden.
There is a blizzard
of snow,
and the magic
of tiny white lights,
sparkling,
upon the snowy garden
is enchanting.

As I walk past
the Christmas tree,
the aroma
is intoxicating.

I feel cozy and warm
snuggled in my robe,
as the snow mounts,
cold and pristine,
for this,
I am grateful.

Winter holds it's own
wonders,
and I thank You Lord.

For today,
I've fallen in love
with this beauty,
and this season.

Dear Ellie,

It appears you're a lover of  many things,
Which capture your eye with a start,
But though you are having a Wintertime fling,
I believe Spring stays lodged in your heart.

And thus are the seasons of beauty,
Each nestled with their delights,
But contast is Ellie's persceptive soul
Which finds beauty in all the sights!

With such a wonderful outlook on things,
the blizzard conditions have no chance to give your heart frostbite!

I really appreciate how you worded your work showing beauty is a state of mind, not the circumstances surrounding us.  My friends daughter climbed a fence ripping a beautiful, expensive first communion dress.  Her Mom immediately said, "Thank you, Lord, she's able to run and climb."  That's stayed with me for many years now, like your attitude will be remembered by many.  Thank you.   RAe

There is nothing in this world as intoxicating as the smell of a fresh pine tree. I just wish that so many didn't have to be cut down just to be decorated for a month and then thrown away. Truly trajic, but your poem gave me a feeling of such nostalgia about christmas and winter. Thank you for this fine piece that will take us into the new millennium.

The first lines of this poem are wonderful. as is the entire poem, but the first part is so true and beautifully worded. I love your fairy gardens and roses and snowflakes and all the splendor that makes your poetry so enjoyable to read

Fascinating!  This is a great appeal to Christians to be content with whatever situation they are in.  This reminds me quite a lot of the ideas of using whatever problems you might have to build your faith.  Good work.

FOr me, I like taking my dog for walks at night in winter.  I love all the cool colours and the way that the glowing lights of various houses intermingle with the shades of gray.  It's quite eerie at times, as well as beautiful.

I am glad that God blessed you with at least a day of Winter's bliss in love with her beauty and season.  I think the beauty here is that you're warm and coazy on the inside looking out at the cold and snow on the outside.  Reminds me how God's Spirit is so like a cup of Hot Cocoa.  Stay warm and spring will be here before we know it.  Love in Christ,  Bob <><
