There is a Light Ahead

Though darkness may surround you,
Hiding visions of the light,
Enveloped in the depths of sorrow,
Raise your thoughts this night.
Eternal life shall grace your soul,

If only you believe,
Such beauty waits in silent gifts,

Around a soul that grieves.

Lifted by the spirit,
In a prayer for evermore,
Gently carried skyward,
Heaven waits with open door.
Trust in faith to see you through,

All obstacles and strife,
Heavy though your burdens now,
Eternal is this life.
Ahead there lies a brilliant light, our goal to reach toward,
Dwelling ever after, in the presence of the Lord.

Dear Kit; Exquisite is the only word for your gift of beauty and inspiration in this acrostic. Amazing beauty and glorious praise to God!  Love, Ellie

Thank you so much for these lovely words Ellie. I promised you I'd post something one day in this Forum, and wanted to share this one.

There's been so much sorrow both within the forums and in my own world, that I find this writing helps to bring me back to earth, and rejuvinate my soul.  I hope to have a chance to read some of your work and others in here this weekend also if I can slow my reality down a bit.

Much appreciations for your kindess Ellie, and if you are talking to Liz, please send her my continued love and prayers,
/Kit

Kit,
This is so beautiful-in thought and form, and very comforting. I love acrostics-
they are a bit of a challenge--but you've really done marvelously well with this one.
If this is any indication of your talents & your bigness of heart, I hope we may see more of your works to encourage and uplift us in this forum.

My goodness!  Your technique and style are enviable.

You message is beautiful and true.  I think this is one of those poems that all Christians should keep in their pockets, to remind them of God's gifts to us, no matter what the circumstances.  Great job!

Kit,

Beautifully written.  The light is always there.  We just have to look.

Your poem offers the grieving spirit much hope and promise in that at the end of every tunnel when we get through... there is a light that awaits ahead.  Thank you for your encouraging word today and God bless you, Bob <><
