Sometimes when I go into God's house for comfort,
I find walls, instead.
I hear about the Gay Agenda,
Or complaints about women having too many rights.
Or excited chatter about the End Times.

Amidst all this noise, I hardly ever hear that simple name.

Jesus.

"God," I ask, "Is this how you want me to act?"

And so, I stew about the question for days on end.
But I never even look to God for the answers.
I only pray, and then stew, leaning on my own understanding.

Then, after a few weeks,
I open God's word.

I read about how Jesus allowed a sinful woman to wash his feet.
I read about how Jesus died on the Cross - a horrid and painful death.
And I read about why he did that.

He did that for adulterers.
He did that for murderers.
He did that for liars.
He did that for homosexual offenders.
He did that for me.

But sometimes I never hear a word about that when I go
Into God's house.

This is a powerful statement....

Karilea
If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

This is one subject that can really get me going. I have studied with a pastor for years, that teaches God's word line by line, chapter by chapter.

I have gone into churches, but afraid I find the same thing.
They never seem to get around to teaching about God, but go into stories about their Aunt Martha or something. Or they seem stuck on Salvation, which is a good thing, but they need to get into the meat of the Word.

I feel your frustration here!! Great writing.

I know not what the future holds,
but I know Who holds the future.

I don't question YOUR existance - GOD

Yes, Jesus has done so much for us (the church) and I am convinced that if the church will not respond with praise and thanksgiving, the walls themselves are destined to cry out in our place...  Love in Christ, Bob <><
