You touched me last night in the coolness
Of a crisp and clear autumn's eve
You reached right down from the heavens
And took hold of my old woolen sleeve.
I was out there looking for solitude
Just some peace at the end of the day
Chilled to the bone, I'd about given up,
That's when I started to pray.
As I sat there under the canopy
Of a black crystal sky filled with stars,
I asked You to please take my worries
And help heal the yesterdays scars.
Wounds left by those who have left me,
And by words that have cut to the bone,
To please just take those old memories
That leave me feeling so lost and alone.
It was then I felt the little tug,
Looking over, You were right there,
Sitting beside me on the steps
Taking away the chill in the air.
You placed Your robed arm on my shoulder,
And warmed a heart that was so cold,
You whispered gentle words of hope,
And gave me Your hand to hold.
Just then a moonbow lit up the sky,
And angels appeared all around,
You then left to go help another,
Knowing the lost had been found.

Oh Bonnie, I love this and it is so familiar.  This is where I go just to feel Him and talk. Outside, under the stars in the stillness of a blackened night, once he sent a breeze that swirled around me without stiring a leaf. He comes to us, just as you described, with His love.  Loved it and can't wait until nightfall now.    Love, Marcy

Bonnie--
Another lovely visitation of love, to help you through one of life's Dark Valleys. True to His word, we will not leave us to go it alone--He truly knows and cares- and as He lets us know & be reminded of such, he helpS unload us from our heavy burdens.  (I Peter 5:7 is one of my favorite passages-which calls us to cast our Cares and Him- because he cares for us)  God bless you, David

WOW- another day of life-and here among friends!

Bonnie~

A 'moonbow' ... only you would have used that lovely thought.

I thank Him for you.

Dear Bonnie; How wonderfully my spirits are lifted by your poems, especially this one, His love is everlasting and His promises are always kept. Love, Ellie

I love how you bring Jesus to life in your poems and make Him a real person in the flesh who can touch, love, and restore our lives.  It is wonderful to view our Lord in this way... so real.  Bob <><

Bonnie~ This is one special poem! I could feel the warmth of Jesus hug. He is the one who can fill the void left by others. All we have to do is pray, and call on the name of Jesus, he will be there,  right on time!
