why me Lord...
we so often ask
what have i done
to deserve such a task

why me Lord...
i don't understand
why won't you give
me a helping hand

why me Lord...
it doesn't seem fair
you give me burdens
too heavy to bear

why me Lord...
how long must i cry
seems things get worse
the harder i try

it's me Lord...
no questions today
humbled i come
to listen and pray

teach me Lord...
how to trust in you
show me the way
create me anew

Vicky~
Oh, dear friend ... sometimes we just have
to stand still long enough for Him to take
our burdens.

A loving write.

vl - Sometimes the hardest thing to do is just as you said "listen and pray" - and... hand it all over to Him.  Sometimes it seems we just don't want to let go.  This is beautiful.  Bonnie

Vicki, This is a wonderful prayer; from questioning to yielding & being submissive to Him. Marcy

Marge-
thank you so much, my friend.
   this was actually inspired by
a friend of mine who is going
   through a difficult time right
now, but the more i read it, the
more i realized that lately these
feelings have applied to me as well.
anyway, thanks so much for your
   friendship.  i appreciate you.

Bonnie-
   yes...sometimes it is extremely hard
to let go and let God, but i'm trying.
thanks so much for the kind words.

Marcy-
thanks so much for the kind reply.
   really glad you enjoyed this.

love you all,

The helping hand is there, you have to reach out and touch It.

I know how you are feeling.  Sometimes we have to be completely dependent on God.

Understanding the "why's?" is not always a prerequisite.

I ask your question often, but I have to believe God is in better control than I could ever be.

Vicky this is so lovely and one thing that I am learning is that the difficult times we face are just to strengthen us and if we get to that point where we feel we are going to fall that is when "he" steadies us with his hand.  It is probably is way of showing us that we have more strength in believing and trusting in "him" than we may know.  Lovely verse and the feelings reflect so much of how we all feel from time to time.

"pray for trials.."..the wise man said..

to listen..thats the hard part..
to hear..and to wait..

wow! how we need to wait on the lord..patience is so difficult (especially when thats where we lack--and what we are praying for!!)...but the helping hand is there..if we learn to listen, hear, and wait..

one day, we learn...aye?

this is a great one tricks

Daniel-
thank you so much for the words
   of encouragement.  glad you liked.

Jeen-
yes...some days it's easier than others
to give it all to him...but i know that
if i will let him he'll take care of my
every need.    thank you so much for
   your response.

Mark-
once again, you have put a smile on my
face.  you always have such kind words
   when responding to my poems.
   thank you, my friend.

yes, i too have learned that during those
most difficult times ...when it seems He
is the furthest out of reach...is when He
is actually the closest to us...we have
only to recognize His presence and let
   Him take over.

Bob-
so glad you enjoyed this one.
this actually started off as just
the negative point of view, and
just kind of changed in mid-stream.
   i'm glad it did.
   thanks so much for reading.

dg-
yes...we do need those trials to make us
   stronger...and stronger in the Lord.

as far as patience goes...you KNOW that
isn't always one of my strengths.
   ...but i do try.

thanks so much for reading and for all
   the encouraging words.  your friendship
means more to me than you know.

   glad you enjoyed this one.
   ((((((((((GREAT BIG HUGS))))))))))
   love you much

thanks again everybody,

Vicky,
We all feel alone and overburdened at times, we must remember where our help comes from and be humble and submissive to recieve it. Good reminder for me! good poem.

This is something we can all relate to. We have to get to that place where we are still and we listen...then we realize that He's there all the time, ready, willing and able!

Vicky I love the turn around here.
It reminds me of that one poem, can't think of the name, or who it was written by...

Getting up in the morning with so much to do that we didn't take time to pray, and troubles tumbled around us.

The next day we realized, we had so much to do, that we needed to take the time to pray.

VAS-
Very true...this is something that many
people, including myself at times, often
   struggle with...and it's such a burden
off our shoulders when we stop asking
'why?' and start listening to Him.
   Thanks for reading..

Rebecca-
YES!  I know the poem you're referring to,
and it is one of my favorites.  I wish I
could remember the title of it!
Thank you so much for the comparison to
   that...what a wonderful compliment.
Aren't our lives just so much easier
when we take the time to listen and pray?

   hugs,
   ~vicky
