There are some of us who know God
And others who just want to believe
Then there are those with no faith
Who say we have all been deceived

They say that because they weren’t
Raised to know of all His glories
Or maybe they once had faith
Until science told them it’s just stories

To those of you who want to believe
And to those who say He’s a lie
Here are three steps to know God
So why not give them a try

First you must find the proper path
And that path you must travel
If you continue to do this
Your faith will never unravel

Second you must bathe in the warmth
Of the All Father’s light
Once you have done that
You will gain a greater sight

Finally you must be touched
By the Lords own hand
That will be your proof
And you will forever understand

Some will say this doesn’t work
For they have tried and tried again
Well let me be a little more clear
I’ll explain from start to end

When you’re searching for the path
And all your intentions are true
All you have to do is stop
And that path will find you

When you’re looking for the light
That radiates from the Almighty
All you have to do is close your eyes
And truly there it will be

Then when it’s the touch of God
With all your heart you wish to feel
All you have to do is ask
And at that time He will

When you complete these steps
I am sure you will find
That certainly you know God
And have a greater piece of mind

and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams (Acts 2:17)

You have written about a very good plan to knowing God summed up with so few words as "stop, close your eyes, and ask..."  To know God is such a simple thing and it is a shame that so many make it out to be so difficult. Thank you for sharing this insprirational poem of true simplicity in Christ, Bob <><

jlocke - Wow, a truly inspiring piece of work.  How clearly you have pointed out the ease with which to find Him.  Why does it often seem we forget that we simply have to look around....and ask?  This is wonderful.  Bonnie

Thank you, yes, it is so simple.  I hope that those who are trying to hard and those who aren't even looking, will read and then see.

Thank you, as to your question, why do we forget to ask?  The tauists - who have no God btw - would say it is because we have to much knowledge.  Knowledge for the sake of knowledge can weigh us down and throw us out of balance with nature, causing us to lose our grasp on the simple truths in life.

Oh this was GOOD! So many times I have tried to explain this. And really, what do they have they to lose that haven't already?

If they try sincerely to find God, they shall.
Seek and you shall find! Knock and it shall be opened.  You are so right when you say it has to be the sincerety in a person's heart though.  For the longer God sees you trying, the more He makes open and known unto you.

Excellent work!!
