You see a new face now-
Or should I say an old one?
This one is more recent
Unlike the dashing bold one.
But it's a more accurate
Reflection of the current me,
The 50 year old gentleman
That I've become to be.
This reflects the march of time
That all of us partake,
We have our glamours moments
But them we soon forsake
For we live in the real world
That moves full steam ahead,
Yesterday we were just born
Tommorow we may be dead.
We are on a Spiritual Journey
And we can't just stand still.
To Judgment day we're headed
We must seek the Father's will.
It's not what's on the outside-
But that that's found within
That will go to determine
If we lose or win.
May I be an object lesson
Of what you to must face,
In this ever changing world
We e'er must find our place.
For we too are changing
In our visage from young to old,
But the most important
Are the changes in our Souls.
We can be transformed to His Image
Despite our ourward frame,
From glory unto glory
In His most Powerful name.
I'm glad you see now see my likeness
But more importantly, may you see this,
I'm changing to be more like Him
And in the likeness that is His.

God Bless you all, My dear friends at Passions,
                David

This was a blessing.  Thanks for sharing this.

It reminded me of the scripture which says "All flesh is grass.  And the glory of man as the flower of the grass.  The grass withers and the flower thereof falls away, but the word of the Lord endures forever. - and this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you."

God bless you.

Dear David: now there's the face I know! I think the poem to go with it is perfect. Your words sing with the wisdom God teaches us. His grace that dwells in our hearts and souls, is who we really are, and might I add that you have aged with dignity and you're still a handsome poet in my book! Love, Sis

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

How nice to know you're not really the 18 year old the former picture implied.   I  appreciate your poem and realistically, you look more dignified in this update.

I do see a certain glow in your face and I feel a certain submission in your words that certainly suggests His presence in your life... Thanks for sharing His image with us today, Bob <><

David I'm glad to see you posting again!

Actually I like this picture a whole lot more than the other one.

This one really made me stop and think.
I love it! I'm glad you're back around.

David,

How'd I miss this gem?  Wow, so glad I found it tonight.  I like the new picture by the way.  Yes, we are all on the same Spiritual Journey and you have captured it perfectly here.  Nice writing!

David,
Your are truely an inspiration to remind us all that we should always give GOD the glory. Thank you for all your praises through poetic verse.
And yes we all change as the years keep coming and coming and coming.
I know
60 seconds = 1 minute; 60 minutes = 1 hour
24 hours = 1 day; 365 days = 1 year
And I realize that as each year passes, I
get older and older. However, the years
are coming at me at such a great velocity, I
am inclined to raise my hands to heaven and
demand a recount.

You've certainly aged well! You don't look 50 to me! Great poem!
