How many days have You given me
As You watched, cared and hoped silently
For just one hint of appreciation
For the wonders of Your creation?

You gave my body healthy growth
Rainbow reminders of Your oath
A brain to learn, eyes to see
All, while I wondered where You could be.

Five precious babies from my womb
While I rarely thought of Your borrowed tomb
So busy I was to make ends meet
Unaware, only You make life complete.

To get better off financially
I spent less time with my family
With guilt, I was plagued constantly
And wondered, "Where can You be?"

You ought bless MY ways, I expected
Keep my family and plans protected
Perhaps even give me some time to pray
Seeing I worked 18 hours every day.

You watched and waited so patiently
While I writhed in great anxiety
For it is in suffering, You knew
That would finally bring me to You.

When my realization came
I could've drowned in shame
YetYou forgave my every sin
Healing my heart by living within.

WOW, What a testimony!  Life can be so hard at times, but God is always sooooo Good.
I am glad that You took the time to experience God's Love for you.  As always, God Bless You, Bob <><

ahem trying to hold back the faucets here.

Did you bring back memories. I can remember thinking the same thing, as later on when I looked back over the years, and I knew God had to be there and watching over me. Even though I hadn't acknowledge it, or known it.

Yes indeed His patience is something else isn't it?

It's left a footprint on my heart    Love ya Mom!

Sandgrain(I do wish I knew your first name),
This is a beautiful poem of realization.
So often we don't at all see or are aware of God's care and providence for us. But it's there and it's real!  LORD OPEN OUR EYES--that You may fill our hearts.Amen! David

WOW- another day of life-and here among friends!
Ain't God Grand!

Yes, Bob, life can be hard, but it's impossible when one's not aware of God's personal care for each one.  Yet, it's that very impossibility that makes us cry out and finally come to a true understanding.  Bless you for your great posts and kind responses.

David, this is Rae  .  Thank you to for being so kind in your repies and reading my attempts at poetry.

Becca, thank you for reading, relating and responding.  It is amazing to realize all the while God seemed to be missing, it was merely us not seeing.  Extremely humbling, and heartwarming.  Love you, Mom

beautiful poem, nicely constructed. the first two lines to your fourth stanza may be a answer to one of my own prayers. i've pretty much put my career in idle for a number of years. i know that i could do better than my present position, but i also know that a promotion would mean much longer hours and more stress. so i've felt guilty that my laziness has cheated my children out of a lot of things we could otherwise have. also, my present job allows me a lot of freedom i would lose if i accepted a promotion. for instance, i'm able to listen to tapes and cd's all day long--i've listened to the entire bible more than once--at work! i've prayed about it, and the only advantage i can see in accepting a promotion is money--period. and i don't care a great deal about money, but the rest of my family does. am i being selfish?

Winnifer, It's far from selfish to get priorities in proper order, seeing the cost of the endless treadmill for more and better is stress and lack of free time.  Tis far more important to lay up treasures for heaven but worldly people don't understand.  Bless you and thank you for responding.

Bonnie, a compliment from a poet like you is
exhilarating.  Thank you, dear.
