You Always Have A Choice
~*Marge Tindal*~

Precious memories of long ago.
I share them now with you.
So you may know the things I've learned
and I hope it helps you too.

I was but a young woman of seventeen,
when my Grandma left this earth.
I missed her more than you could know
I missed her merriment and her mirth.

Throughout my life I've remembered
things that Grandma said,
when I was lonely or afraid
or just laying in my bed.

Her vision was so clear to me
each time I felt so small.
She always returned
in my heart and my mind.
She was always right, I'd recall.

Though she left many years ago,
I can clearly hear her voice.
'When good and bad confront you,
let God help you make the choice.'

Sometimes, I'm sure I've chosen wrong.
Once more I hear her voice.
'No one said you'd always be right,
but you must live with your choice.'

I think I've got this figured out.
She lived life and knew the game.
'Choose right more often than you choose wrong
and you won't have to wear the blame.'

I thank my Grandma for the words of wisdom
etched on a young girl's heart,
When right and wrong stand side by side,
and you feel that you may lose,
weigh the choices carefully
then let God help you choose.

Dear Marge, This is so tender and precious! Reminds me of my very own, whom I lost when I was twenty...so wise, just like yours, prepared me for choices always relying on God.  So glad you shared your loving tribute to your Grandma here, it is beautiful. Marcy

Dear Marge; Glorious tribute to your grandma. Mine loved me so and she taught me faith too. How blessed we are! Love, Ellie

How come those Grandma's just knew so much ?

Marcy~
Oh, my ... just one of the many things I remember about her.
By the way, her Cherokee name was Woman With Tongue That Wags.
She was known for all her beautiful stories.

Ellie~
They sure were full of love, huh ?
And smelled of rose sachet and gardenias.
Thanks all of you !

Marge~

I think Grandma was very wise!!  I bet she would be proud to know that her words have stuck with you throughout your life my friend.  It is always hard when someone near and dear to us leaves this earth, but in a way, she has lived on with you . . . in your heart and in your memories.  This one is beautiful.

Love ya,
Lone Wolf

What precious gifts they leave for us, not just ones that wax old, but carry on in our memories for a long time to come!

This was a precious tribute Marge, and a lesson learned

My Grandmother was a school principal and a sunday school teacher....

...and a poet.

Man, was she strict!

My mother died when I was two and I lived with my Grandmother during my primary years growing up. So, I did learn a few things from her.

Thank you so much for reminding me of my precious Grandmother through your post.

As was your's, My Grandmother was a woman who reverenced God and was full of practical wisdom.

God Bless You, Bob <><

Marge,
This is really nice. It sounds like your grandma was a very wise woman. This reminds me of my grandma also. She was full of advice, and now I recall as you do, the words of wisdom, told out of love.
Thanks for the reminder.

Aren't they just the smartest people ?
Someday, when I'm a grandmother, I hope to be just like her !

Bonnie~
Her advice to seek His advice is the best advice I've ever been given.
