Sitting in an open field
Wild flowers all around
My eyes were closed
My heart was full
No peace of mind I found
I cried out Abba help me
For I feel so all alone

Please Father, can I come home?!?

"Not now my child.....
Your work on earth's not done
I will walk this road with you
When it's your time I'll come"

Sitting in an open field
Wild flowers all around
I pick a few
I start to smile
Sweet peace in God I've found

This is wonderful, I imagined the field and the flowers, and the feeling of crying "Abba"
good work!

What peace He can bring us when we cry out to Him! Lovey way of describing that!

...and amen & amen!! I've been in that open field with a full heart, crying out "Abba".
Good writing, so full of hope. Marcy

It's nice to have you back with us... and you've brought with you a lovely bouquet of flowers?  How good God is to never leave us during our times of difficulty.  I have asked to go Home a few times as well, but while I'm here I might as well smell your freshly picked flowers.  Thank You and God Bless You, Bob <><

Bouquets to you for this simply elequent poem of praise to His loving Grace. I echo everyone in saying that I've been in that dark place as well, and the Lord has always been my savior.  Ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Thank-you Irish Rose, WhtDove, Alle'cram, Lighthousebob, and ellie for your comments. Yes, it is wonderful when God reaches out to us, even though we sometimes feel as if he's so far away. I find with myself all those times I feel like he's so far away, it's always because I'm not letting him get close to me. I keep him at a distance. It's so wonderful that I have a Father that won't leave me, even though I tend to put him at arms length when I need him the most.

Yes, Lighthousebob, I've brought a bouquet of flowers for all of you. If you close your eyes you can smell the sweet fragrance as the gentle breeze of our Father's breath blows their scent through the air. What a lovely gift for us all.

Very nice poem. Would this be Hope's field?
Though I mostly remember weeds and broomsage
there. But hey, even weeds bloom. Write us another.
