~Enters Mercy And Grace~

She runs for her life, gasping for breath
too worn for tears
her head hangs in fear and shame
her torn dress drags the street in shreds
too old for her years...

throngs of people encircle
they salivate as hungry lions
anticipating the kill...

stones in hand, eager to judge
spewing at the mouth, curses they fling

enters...
mercy and grace
he speaks
all innocent throw stones
all guilty go home

stone cold silence

Blooming Rose,
this is loveliness and reflects the love of Christ, you have done an excellent job in phrasing it.

Rose; Beautiful poetry and all the glory to God and His merciful Love, full of Grace!

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Kathleen, El, Vicky, and Bonnie
I am glad you all were touched by this.
It's really from the story that most know very well.
"He who is without sin cast the first stone."
I think of the mercy he gives, and I cannot fathom that deep of a love.
I am ever grateful to my lord and saviour Jesus Christ.

You've portrayed this scripture well! I love that ending!

I love that story as well. As he starts writing in the sand, can you just imagine what it was he was writing?

So and so, this sin, on this date, as they dropped their stone and left.

So and so, did this sin on this date, as they also dropped their stone and left.

I love it!  Excellent work, and it really hits home. "Stone cold silence." Love it!
