Follow The Leader

For a position in the Lord's Kingdom,
Each one of the Lord's disciples fought
Because, none of them were very thankful
For the Spiritual blessings they got.

Like in a game of "Follow the Leader,"
They each argued in their own childish way;
"I wanna be first!  No, I'm gonna be first..."
I heard each grown man say.

"The first shall be last, and the last shall be first--"
Was my precious Savior's reply,
"For in My Kingdom, a child shall lead them
To their mansion high in the sky!"

Bob; This is a wonderful poem "unless you become as a little child"...comes to mind.
You have expressed so well that we are all equally loved and equally His children. Ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Bob you sure hit on something with this one. If people could only see it's not a matter of title but of serventhood maybe they'd stop fighting for position and yes follow our Leader and His example. But it's a heart adjustment that needs to be made. Thank you for these wise words. Bless you my friend.

What a great reminder Bob! We are all working for the same cause, GOD!

Very well put, a message that reaches out to many to sit back and think!

This is such a wonderful message, Bob, so very well written. Oh so hard to seperate human desires from that which is most important, spiritual humility. Thanks for the lovely reminder.  Love, Marcy

You've certainly expounded on this verse in the greatest way.  It's comforting, especially when one sees their child left out or shortchanged because they quietly waited their turn that never came because the unmannerly  pushed and grabbed.  Competition can inspire but also spur greed and egotism if not kept in line.  Thank you.

                  Thank You Everyone

This poem was written as I observed the mannerisms of little children at play.  Two children were arguing about who whould be first in a game of follow the leader and a third child steped in and said, "We can all be first!" I had to question her young wisdom, because in my thinking only one child could be first for not all of them could be the leader... And then the child continued, You be first-first and you be last-first and I'll be first in the middle.  When it comes to God and Heaven... We are all first.  And a child can truly be our example. Thank you everyone for taking the time to comment on my writing.  Your views and insights are always appreciated and I do look forward to reading them all.  God Bless You, Bob <><
