Lord, Please Take my Hand

This is a pain I’ve never known
It’s hard to understand
I think I need a little help
So Lord, please take my hand

I’ve had my share of troubles
I’ve known hunger, strife and fear
But this time, Lord, I’m all alone
And I will need You near

I’ve always been the strong one
Standing tall in sorrow’s wake
But this time I just need you, Lord
To point which road to take

The weary steps I have to plod
I cannot walk alone
And sorrows weight upon my soul
I can’t bear on my own

Please shine a little light upon
This cruel and darkened path
Your holy presence by my side
Is all I really ask

The Lord said , it is not my hand
You need to soothe your cares
Nor shall I walk your footsteps
Nor your weight of sorrow bear

I shall not walk beside you
Nor point which way to go
For you must light the path yourself
In ways that you well know

Have faith in Me, not in my help
Believe that I am Love
And peace will come into your soul
In abundance from above

And in your faith you’ll find the strength
To walk down any road
To take the next uncertain step
To bear your sorrow’s load

For though you’ve lived and felt the pain
Of sorrow’s jagged spear
You still must learn that through your faith
You’ll rid your soul of fear

Walk gently down the road of life
Confront each day with grace
In happiness or sorrow
Peace will shine upon your face

And then I heard Him whisper clear
You know that I am always near

Dear LIZ,
This is a very touching piece-which gives clear insight we all need.  God bless you in all your trials knowing He is ALWAYS there.

Elizabeth~
Your faith is strong and He is close at hand.
May you feel His strength as your own.

A beautiful testament, my friend.
Love you~

Oh Liz, I just love this.  The faith in you is just shining through in this beautiful prayer/poem.  So many times throughout my life, when I just didn't think I could take another step He has given me a little nudge and the strength to continue on... This is going to be remembered by me for a long, long time.  Thanks for sharing, and God Bless You .... Bonnie

Dearest Liz; Your faith and courage at this dark time are awesome to behold, and you shine as an incredible example to us all. An example that , when troubles come, We will remember your faith and courage, and thus find it within ourselves. Love, Ellie

that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Such insight you have!  This very moving peace is a real testimony not only of our Lord's undieing love but of your consistant faith in it resulting from your advancing through adversity.  God bless you richly day by day, hour by hour throughout this trying time.

Oh Liz, that first line brought tears to my eyes.

Matt. 11:28-29  Liz this shows such strength, and I know we get weak and weary from this heavily trodden path. When you are weak, it is He who gives us strength. When you feel you just can't make it through, that it's too much to bare, remember it is then He carries you!

I know when we're in it, it's so hard to see how we're gonna do it, but take each day at a time. My heart truly does cry for you, and though you may not feel it, you are a pillar of strength!

(wrapping my arms around you to hug you big)
You're in my prayers Liz!
Love ya!
