Lambs lost
in the tangled webs
of knarled worldly,
dark and empty promises.
Seeking, they know not what.
Searching their fullfillment,
and frantic needs, in people,
places and things,
that will never satisfy,
their endless neediness.
Like sheep without a shepherd,
they are aimless, and endlessly
unsatisfied.
Untill they tumble into
that dark pit of despair,
and at long last, cry out
for the Shepherd,
and oh, how He flies to their
rescue.
Leading them, at long last,
with his boundless Love.
Shepherding them to safe
pastures,
In His everlasting arms,
fullfilling every need
to overflowing satisfactions
of Loves eternal Grace.

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

dear ellie,
This is wonderful.  You have shared food and light with this lovely poetry. So glad you were lead to do this one and share how to find fullfillment and joy in Christ. You have given a bouquet of wisdom and a table of meat and bread for those wanting to partake of the Master's table.  Lovely and so much needed, glad you thought to do it.
Love, Marcy

Ellie, this brings to mind Psalms 107.
This is a wonderful work Ellie, and I hope that you'll keep this one safe and submit it for the next book.

I've tried many times to say these words, but haven't been able to put it out as lovely as you have. My hat goes off to you!

Oh, another beautiful, inspirational piece Ellie.  Isn't it wonderful how when we finally do call out, the peace comes.  This is so lovely.  Bonnie

From entanglement in the things of this world to the loving arms of Jesus.  What a remarkable transition took place with such few descriptive words... What an amazing victory to cry out and find Jesus waiting for us...  A lovely poem of redemption through Christ our Good Shepherd.

...and Psalm 107 is a good read.

God Bless You, Bob <><

Ellie,
How visual the words you write...and powerful too.
lambs lost in the tangled web
ending the poem with Gods grace...
