I cannot find a way to put this into a poetic form, so I'm just going to write it out and tell my little tale of a miracle.

It was a night I will never forget, November 22, 1980.  Nothing special had gone on, we had had our dinner, bathed the kids, put them to bed, watched TV for a little while, then went to bed ourselves.  Around midnight, our oldest Scott, then 4, suddenly got sick, I took him into the bathroom and was cleaning him up, when I passed out.  My husband (Bruce) was standing over me shouting my name when I came to.  We got Scott back to bed, Bruce went back to bed and...I passed out again.  This time it took a little longer for Bruce to realize it, and when he did, he got up to help me, and ... down he went.  At some point, Scott was up again, when I went to him, he had passed out.  All night long, the 3 of us kept passing out, we were very disoriented, and knew something was wrong, but could not think clearly enough to call for help.

The next morning around 9:00, my mother called, as she did every morning when they were home.  The odd thing was, they were supposed to be in Boston visiting my brother and his family and were not due home for three more days.  Anyway, when she called, somehow Bruce answered the phone and told her not to come over because we were all sick and he didn't want her or my dad to catch it.....But, being a mother, she and dad were here in minutes.  They found us all passed out, Josh, the baby was still in his crib, (through the night as I heard his little cries, but I couldn't get to him, and I was afraid if I tried to take him from his crib I would drop him, so he stayed in there with the door closed).  My parents called an ambulance and the 4 of us were off to the hospital.

We had carbon monoxide poisoning, no taste, no smell, and we certainly had no idea of the symptoms, thus we didn't know enough to get out of the house.  Miraculously we all survived, but only by the grace of God.  We all had massive amounts of carbon monoxide in our blood, but the kids were a true miracle.  They had what should have been lethal amounts and today they are 24 and 22, they are absolutely fine, and no doctor on earth could then, or can now give any explanation.

My parents, until their dying days told us it was because of a dream (vision) my mom had had the night before they came home from Boston.  It was of her father walking down our little Main St. holding Scott's & Josh's hands.  Her dad died when I was only 6 years old, I barely knew him, my children certainly never did, yet, he came to mom and let her know that know something wasn't right.  That dream was the reason they cut their trip short, that dream is the reason we are all still here today, for the doctors said had we been in the house for another hour, it would have been too late.

No coincidence here, I will never believe that it was anything but God and His angels at work.

Wow Bonnie! What could have been a tragedy certainly all worked out! Thank GOD!

It amazes me, I'm blown away by your story. The protection he gave your family that night. I'd say it's unbelievable, but not when it comes to God.
I love reading stories such as these. It can't help but lift one up and boost one's faith in God.

God bless you Bonnie, I'm so glad things turned out the way they did

Thank you for sharing this!!

Oh, Bonnie, Thank You!! I am left speechless.....and, no wonder your faith is so unshakable! God's intercession via your Mom, a dream, a means often used of God to help a loved one or (in cases I know of first hand) to help a acquaintance avoid life threatening situations.  Praise His Name! You, Bruce and your two sons are living proof, God is on the thrown.  You are living proof of His wonderful love for you and your family, how I am humblied by your miracle of life.  Your faith and love for our Lord is in its rightful place, and you wear His banner so well. You have put a smile upon Jesus' face this day and one upon mine, (not to mention the goose bumps).  Praise God for His love and power and blessings amongst us. Praise God, for your witness and love. I have been blessed dearly by your testimony, one in which I will repeat many times to come. Thank you, thank you, Bonnie, for being you.
Love, Marcy

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

WOW... Your parents were certainly your gardian angels to follow the direction from the Lord to get you and your family out of that house.  What a scary thought to hear your children crying and not have enough strength to help them...  I just praise the Lord that everyone in your family survived.
Parents truly are miracles sent from God.  God Bless You, Bob <><
