SUNRISE

Speeding on the tracks of sadness and disgrace
my train of life overfills, crawling snail’s pace.
Disembarking passengers leave an empty space
and I am left in darkness with company;  my face.

I see the lines of worry, of pain, unhappiness,
stretching out in loneliness, not getting any rest
but as the whistle blows I look out in surprise
for God’s pure, glowing light I see in His sunrise.

My train is now adorned, golden banners flying high,
forgiveness of myself wrapped up in nature’s sky,
and passing through the pain of evil in mankind
I pray for all to feel the beauty of sunrise.

HB,
This is a beautiful train of thought- especially the further it gets down the track!

Dear HoneyBunch,
Oohh, I liked this one much.  You have captured so well a problem I have, forgiving myself, knowing Jesus does.  I love it and a superb job with the rhyming scheme.  Marcy

Hello David,

Thank you for responding but, of course, the train is still travelling - destination; sunset!

Hi Alle'cram,

Thank you for reading and for your kind comments.  Perhaps forgiveness of ourselves is the hardest thing we can do in life but I'm trying.

What a great piece!  Good soldiers can weigh themselves down carrying the old worn out boots of all the past battles when they're of no use anymore.  Each sunrise is God's reminder of newness in life.  Bless you.
