In the blackness of the nighttime,
When sleep just can't be found,
I go to the porch and speak to You,
Unseen, but I know You're around.
You sent racoons out to entertain,
And sent whispered hoots from an owl,
Heaven is filled with twinkling stars,
And I heard a kitten's a soft howl.
Just enough light from a shrouded moon,
Lights the way to the garden for me,
Flowers opening in the dark,
Lovely blossoms for me to see.
Getting lost in the shadowed beauty,
Those thoughts that kept me from sleep,
You've lifted ever so gently,
And You have taken them to keep.
Now the fog in my mind has lifted,
Burning off with the morning sun,
Dewdrops glistening pastel hues,
Bringing peace to the day that's begun.
And today when I feel the stinging blows,
When I feel that I've failed the test,
I will know that You are beside me,
Guiding me through all of the rest.
And tonight when the curtain of darkness falls,
And I send You my heartfelt prayers,
Sleep will come to this weary soul,
As You lift all those troublesome cares.

Bonnie dearest; this poem is breathtaking! How well our hearts are in tuned to His mercy and His grace, and how many times I have wakened in the night with confusion or troubled and His love wisks it all away the minute I ask. We are truly sisters of the Loving Spirit of Our Lord. I need to take a deep breath after this awesome experience you've just given me. Thank you so much! Love, Ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Bonnie-
What a lovely, peaceful, serene picture you paint in the ways of the perceptive, seeking, trusting Soul--a remedy we would all do well persue , if we can.  Thank you for this lovely meditative poem.  David

You have gently reminded me of the blessing God bestows upon us each night as we rest in His presence... What a wonderous thing to rest in the still of night and marvel at His creation... The stars, the moon, the flowers, and the little night creatures... What a hallowed place you have there in the Lord. Sweet Dreams and God Bless You,  Bob <><

Your imagery is always so captivating, and your perspective so honoring to our Lord, I picture you as an angel.  God bless, and thank you for sharing your beauty.

Bonnie how truly beautiful. I was sitting on your porch with you. And I was just as amazed at the beauty our Lord creates for us.
