Sing your final song
of summers fading
splendor.
Sing of long bright
days, and never ending
gentle breezes,
that softly flow
through gardens fragrant
beauty that seduces
the butterflies to come
and sing their muted song,
as they dance to the
waltzing melody of summers
dreams of hazy warm
sunsets glowing on
green hills and meadows,
that gleam softly
in twilight memories.
A song of summer never ends,
in memories that sing
of her splendors
on cold winter nights,
for God's gift
of remembered joy,
gives a song of hope,
that spring will
always return.

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Ahhh and Ellie, I will remember this beautiful summer poem as we are bracing ourselves for another 18" of snow.  We aren't too far from Buffalo, and right in the heart of the WNY snowbelt, so I will have many nights to read this and remember the sweetness of summer you have written so well of.  Bonnie

oopps! it seems I have missed several while under the weather.

This is typical ellie, to carry us into fall with a lovely visual of summer's warmth. Thank you for your lovely poetry and your lovely heart. This one is beautiful. Marcy

What a lovely thought to embrace the warmth of summer on through winter's cold into the retuning spring... I believe this poem might just help me to hold on.  God Bless You,  Bob <><

Remarkably beautiful Ellie!
Oh how I will miss the summer. It came and went so quickly. Hard to believe fall is upon us so soon.  As the leaves are already starting to fall.

This will continue to warm us all through those cold winter months.
