I've seen you before..
And I know you're a thief!
But somehow I admire you,
admire your slight of hand over matter,
and how you divide & scatter-
the human race.

It was you who tried
to talk Messiah into turning
stones into bread, after you had
baited him for so long in that place
that he was near outta his head.

I see you're still looking to ascend
to the sides of the North;
Now you've got them re-building Babel
upon strands of DNA,
in your attempts to unravel the mysteries
of life, death and birth.
But what is it worth?
I know they call you the Angel of death,
but you're still breaking out in a sweat
@ the inescapability of JEHOJAH'S net;
ya should-a remained the covering Cherub.

Some still think of you with
cloven feet and a fork.
HA!
What a lark!

Now you're riding the waves of light
into living rooms at night,
programming the minds of the masses
with steady T.V classes,
feeding them all this hocus-pocus,
abra-ca-dabra, Buffy could-a
slayed a vampire stuff, and
they just can't get enough;

But they're cosying up to principalities
and powers, completely unaware that
this is the last hour!
Gotta give you that though,
you're one smart cat.

Tell me, what ever happened
to that gang called Legion?
The ones who caught that piggy back ride
full speed down that hill-side,
in their attempt to hide from Messiah;
who now sitteth upon the right hand
of the JEHOVAH, HIS NAME be
blessed forever.
It has got to be them who're causing
all this havoc with the weather!

You go tell them to hold off
with the storms until the children
be brought into safe harbor,
for it is written such and such,
in the book you love to hate so much.

Leaving so soon?

I was hoping to get some more insights
from you into this strife,
but what the heck.
I'll just go check in that good
old book of life.

And, lay off the children, will ya?

Yes!!  I always enjoy a work (poem, song, verse of scripture) that puts the Devil in his proper place... This reminds me of a song /story that the singer Carmen might perform.
I really liked the references to DNA and TV.
God continue to Bless You in your writing,  Bob <><

This is a wonderful poem and I enjoyed your sense of humor here too. he has no power over us that have surrendered to God's love.

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

You so amaze me with the truth that comes out in your writing! You're truly blessed to be able to put it in such perspective!

The serpent, that old devil, he's very biblical. For he tempted our Lord with Scripture. He is wise, very wise, and does most of his damage right from the pulpit. (I know some may disagree with this, but so be it.)

Some food for thought here, seeing as how you mention DNA.
This rib that Eve was made of...(a curve)...hence our DNA curve.
Again it's something to think about.

You really sing much truth in your work and I thoroughly enjoy reading it!
