A Penny For Your Thoughts

"A penny for you thoughts".
Said the wise and older man.
To the young woman sitting next to him.
Twiddleing with her wedding band.
"What's that, I'm sorry"? she replied.
The old man smiled,
As he shifted in his chair.
"You look troubled", he said,
Is there anything you'd like to share"?
The young woman began to cry,
Tears of pain, sorrow, mental abuse,
And betrayal by many lies.
She softly told her story,
As she bowed her head in shame.
"I tried so hard to please him", she said,
But somehow I feel I'm the one to blame".
With a comforting hand he touched her,
And looked directly into her eyes.
"Be at peace", he said,
Your heavenly Father has heard your crys,
He has never let you go.
With you He is well pleased,
These things He wants you to know.
Last week when you were weeping,
Lieing on your bedroom floor,
In desperation you called out to Him,
Pleading you could take no more.
He was right there with you,
Holding you by the hand,
Whispering "Fear not my child,
For I have the master plan".
She sat stunned not knowing what to do.
Who was this man?
And how did he know about that day?
He continued speaking,
For there was more he had to say.
"Know that you are never alone.
He's always by your side.
It's securely under His wings,
That you can safely hide.
Though troubles you will not escape,
He will always see you through.
And if you look closely after every strom.
He paints a rainbow just for you".
She looked up to thank him.
But shocked to find him gone.
Her angel had quietly slipped away.
But she now knew she was not alone.

Juls; I am in awe at the beauty and perfection of this poem. The flow and rhythm is lovely. The story ir tells is nothing short of exquisite. Thank you that I could wake up this morning to this beauty and have my day start with the leap of faith that I now feel. You are certainly a very gifted poet. Love, Ellie P.S. I'll be looking for Angels all day!

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

To know that we are never alone. Someone does watch over us.
I have been there, and so your words rang with truth and sweet peace.

Ah Juls, another way of saying that angels come in the most wondrous of disguises, show us the way, and leave us feeling blessed.

Yep Sunshine you got it. That's the whole meaning to this.Giving the message that we're never alone. And you just never know when your angel might show up. But most important He never leaves us.

Aren't those older men just wonderfully great listeners?  (clearing throat) I mean those angelic older men sent by God of course...  It is always reassuring to know that we are not alone and that no matter what we are going through, (emphasised, we are going through and not stuck in) God has already been there and paved the way for our success.  God Bless You,  Bob <><

Oh, and here is a penny and thanks for sharing...

Indeed, whenever we need help. . . God always seems to know. . . and sends those angels to point us in the right direction. . .

Excellent poem my friend. . .

LOL...Bob you're too much. Ya know I wanted this to say so much. That like you said, we all have to GO THROUGH things, but He never leaves us there. And that whether it's an angel or what He finds a way to speak to us if we'll only listen. Bless you too my friend.

Sven true, He so desires to get His message to us. That's why it's so important to be able to recognize His voice when He speaks to us. Some go a whole lifetime never knowing that He's even trying to speak to them, but none the less He's with them. What a truly awesome God He is. Thanks for stopping in my friend.

Juliet~

Little winged earth angels
He sends them every day
They light upon our hearts
With precious things to say

We find them when we need
A 'pocket angel' by our side
Knowing that He sends them
To help us turn the tide

Forever holding
And enfolding
Us in the comfort of their wings
Oh, the joy of earth angels
Brings us a new song to sing

*This was a delightfully inspiring piece,
little friend .... thank you for sharing it.
See ... He DOES send us an angel !
I just looked in my pocket and found YOU !

Juliet, that was totally amazing! It grabbed and held my attention from beginning to end! I think someone else's post said it gave them goosebumps - me too! That's so awesome that it had such a strong impact! I liked it because it was poetic without being flowery and meaningful without being preachy. And I'm sure everyone could benefit from the message you convey. To be honest, it's the best darn poem I have read so far on this site, not to mention the best poem I have read in a long time! =) How long have you been writing? What inspired you to write this one? Do you have any favourite poets? Keep up the good work! You have my admiration and respect!

Wow pearls of wisdom I don't know quiet what to say. I'm truly honored and humbled by your reply. In answer to your questions, well...I started writing when I was around 13 years old. And the inspiration for this poem, I'm sorry to say came from my own life. And I wrote with the hope that it might give even one person the hope and faith they need to see that our Lord IS with them. And never leaves them, ever.....Also a very warm welcome to Passions to ya.
