She was hidden among the astilbe and ferns,
On her knees, peering out from behind,
Her hair a shiny chestnut brown,
Her eyes brought emeralds to mind.
Dimples in her rosy cheeks,
Her chubby hands lightly holding a bird,
A halo glistening golden beams,
Her delicate voice barely heard.
It seemed she was teaching the bird to fly,
As her wings gently went to and fro,
"Just try to make them go up and down
and off through the skies you will go."
The little bird looked hesitant,
Till he saw her wings lift her high,
Struggling he flapped one wing at a time,
And soon took off through the sky.
I heard the tiniest giggle,
And looked over where the cherub did hide,
Seems other creatures were watching,
and ran to sit close by her side.
Her hand gently stroked a soft bunny,
As she heard a baby squirrel's tale,
A chimpmunk leapt right onto her lap,
Complaining about his friend Dale.
The sweetest smile I've ever seen,
Lit up this dear angels face,
As so many of God's little creatures,
Were held in her feathered embrace.
And I just stood in total awe,
So consumed by what I was seeing,
I felt the love that He had sent,
And I knew my reason for being.

Bonnie, You are amazing! You told (wrote) this in such a fashion that I could visual it first hand. What a wonderful story..that only someone like you could write. Filled with love and wisdom.      Love, Marcy

This is incredibly well done.  It flowed so well and the message just had me hooked.  Thank you for sharing it

What a wonderful scene! Thanks for sharing. I think we'd be really surprised if we could see much of God's true wonder that is probably right under our noses. I have an eight month old baby girl and I would swear when she was in her early weeks, lying in my arms, smiling from ear to ear with eyes looking from one part of the ceiling to another that she saw something...maybe angels.

My dear  Bonnie, you are truly a magical, mystical being yourself! Only a soul that is gifted from God, could write of such gentle lovely innocence. This is a poem written as from the Angels themselves. They surely must kiss your imagination and you pen with each poem you write. I am so blessed to be a part of the joy recieved from the beauty of your gift. I mean every word! Love, Ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.
