A Father of great power
and influence below none
looked upon creation
of His beloved son.
As He gazed upon His little boy...
who now had become Man
His heart leaped with joy
as He saw Him boldly stand
He remembered days gone by
when people cried out His name
A tear fell from the sky,
when He healed the sick and the lame.
The pride swelled within His soul
when His little boy called out a man,
who had been dead, just three days ago
and now could breathe, talk, and stand.
His son, loved so deeply by some,
they would give their life for Him.
But others hated the work he had done.
They tried to call it sin.
This proud Father, with love so deep
watched His child suffer death,
as they hung Him on the cross for all to see,
The Father brought His son to rest
so very proud of His creation.
For in death, His son offered the world,
Eternal Salvation!

Gidget; You have said all that needs be said and you have written it so powerfully and with beauty. Thank you. ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

I'm glad they're moving them over here! Wouldn't want to miss these! You've got some great writing here! I edited it for you, so let me know if I did this correctly. If not I can always go back in and change it

Thank you White Dove, you did a fine job of editing it.And Thank you to everyone who has said such very nice things about my poems.I have seen many on here that are much much better than the ones I have written.Hopefully, one day my writing will be better than this and I can truely glorify God in the manner in which He deserves
I can put the words together ok, but I must humble myself and say that I am not so good at the punctuation part of it.Guess I slept through class that day.
Again, all of you have been very kind and encouraging to me, and you are truely appreciated for that.God Bless you all.

Gidget,

This is very good.  I enjoyed the threads of thought in there.  Maybe some of those threads you could even pick up later and weave another beautiful psalm/ poem. . .not to say that this poem is incomplete at all, it just had some richness in there that can be drawn upon.  I know I did!  Thanks for sharing.  I encourage you to keep writing.  As I like yourself desire to honor the Lord with my pen.

I love the perspective from which you wrote this poem as reflecting on some very emotional reflections from a proud Father's view of a very special Son... Touching.  Bob <><
