Have you thought of what He has done for you today?
Have you taken the time to care.
you awoke to a brand new day,
And the sun was sitting there
The sun greeted you with a warm kiss, did you stop to accept.
The breeze whispered good morning to you,and across the way it swept.
The day, told you to fill it,however you may please,
It offered itself to you,oh so eagerly.
You have the gift,of a brand new day to use.
The entire day,to do with as you choose.
So fill this day wisely, and enjoy each minute offered
For when the present is the past,it never can be altered.
Each day,the Lord gives to you, asking nothing in return,
It is not a purchase you must pay for or earn.
So take not for granted, that which is so free.
Thank the Lord for His gift, and enjoy it,as it was meant to be.

This is a very inspiring piece of work.  It really gives a person food for thought.  We so often don't stop to think of the really important things in life as we get caught up in just trying to live.  The simple God given ones are so often overlooked by all of us.

What a wonderful way to start any day!  I heard a really good idea at a youth camp I attended about waking up with God in your heart.  It is called 7-up.  Every morning spend time (7 minutes to start out) with God.  It really is great!  Anyway, your poem made me think of that.  What a beautiful poem!
God Bless

Thank you all so very much for your kind words.I used to hide my poetry.I never thought it could "hold it's own " against the womderful poetry I have encountered.I asked God for a Spiritual gift, seeking prophecy, and all the while, I was too blinded to see that He has already given me a gift. And one that I hope I will be able to honor Him with.I only pray that somewhere, somehow,Gods love will shine through to a lost soul in one of my poems.I continue to try and improve. My poems are in their "childhood" stage, and I am no professional. But I have the best teacher,God, and I pray I will keep my soul open to Him.

Giget,
Another nice piece. It's interesting to me that you say God has shown you that writing is one of the gifts He's given you. I too prayed earlier this year for him to show me what gifts he would have me use to glorify his name. I've been writing since I was 12 yrs old and wrote during troubled times in high school and college. Since my marriage in '91, I'd written very little until this year. (Until He answered my prayer.) He led me to a renewed interest in writing that led me to writing my Dream poem. I created my web site and in searching the internet for poetry web sites, I found the site for Fellowship of Christian Poets whose mission statement is:
"Poetry is more than just words. Its an expression of the heart through special endowments given by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, our fellowship does not exist for poets to glory in their flesh. It is rather, a tool of God to work against the powers of darkness. Poetry without God's anointing expresses the dreams & aspirations of those who have yet to realize the joys of a walk of faith & a life in relationship with God. Poetry with inspiration, offers hope, life, joy, peace & encouragement to both the poet & the reader.

Our mission is to use our poetic expression in a ministry of encouragement & reconciliation to Christians & Non-Christians alike. We are called to preach the gospel to every creature everywhere. As poets, we are joined together by a common gifting with a mandate from heaven to bless those around us with God's love. To this end do we dedicate our gifting, our lives & our energy."

After finding that site and reading that mission statement, I couldn't help but feel God was talking to me. I'm looking into starting a local chapter in my city. For anyone who's interested, their website address is: http://www.christianpoets.com/

Welcome!!!

This was excellent. . . everyone should always remember the things that have been done in their lives and the REASON that it has been done. . .

Superb. . .

This is a wonderful and timely reminder that you have given us-we all need to sit up and take notice.  I am reminded of the passage in Lamentations which speaking of the LORD's mercies says,"They are new every morning; great is your Faithfulness(3:22-23).
Thank you for sharing this and welcome to our happy Home here,  David
