In this Sacred Moment
is Your dwelling place.

If I wander to a place
called;
"wishful thinking",
I leave Your presence.
Therefore "wishful thinking"
becomes only a smoky haze
of loneliness without You.

If I should dwell too long
in the land of "should have,"
where I wish I had done
things differently,
then I forsake Your promise
of turning all things to
good.

So, dear Lord, keep me
firmly within the
reality
of this moment.
For this alone
is the moment Divine,
enfolded in Your Love.

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Ellie,
This is a timely reminder of keeping our perspectives focused that our joy may be full in HIS presence! Beautiful!

ellie, I love sharing my first cup of coffee with one of your poems in Spirituals.

As I read this, the third time (because I want your words to absorb) I come to realize this poem/prayer to Jesus is yet another level in your walk, seeking more of Him in you. It made me realize, I have been content just standing still-when this is not His desire or mine.

Thank you for this most inspirinational prayer this morning. Love, Marcy

A great reminder that He hears all of our thoughts and they should not stray from Him.  Way to keep it real!

Ellie how true your words are. We should always keep our eyes on Him. This really touched my heart. I'm going through a divorce right now of a marriage of 16 years. And so many times I've said,'what if I'd tried harder, maybe I wasn't a good enough wife. But your words comfort me that He will turn this around for my good. Not in a reconcilation but in a brighter future even if He is the only Husband I will ever have.
Love,
Juls

Those "Should have's" and those "Wishful thinking's" sure can mess up these wonderful moments with God in the here and now...  You surely do challenge us to cherish each moment.  God Bless You,  Bob <><

Ellie,
this is timely, important & wonderful--what great truths you have embedded in this one-forsaking the false ways and seeking the only preciousness that is ours through the Grace of a Godd and Loving God.  You outdid even yourself with this one.  Bravo- from Bro. David

Oh Ellie, What a lovely way to dispose of the should have, could have, would have's and ifs....I've wasted so much time just spinning my wheels....and when I catch myself doing that again, I will remember this beautiful little prayer.  Your words always find a straight route to my heart.  Bonnie

Ellie there is so much truth in these words!
It does take us away from Him when we think on those things.
