I really don't know if this is finished the way it should be but it is a song I was literally given in the night, I couldn't sleep till I got up and wrote it down. So hear goes, maybe some might know of a way to make it better.

Chorus:

He's cleaning the temple
From the inside and out
He's cleaning the temple
From within and without
He's shining the light of his Word
Into my heart
He's cleaning the temple
For he desires to live there.

Verses:

He beams the light of His word
Into my heart
He points to the dusty cobwebs
That I chose to ignore
He helps me remove them
For a hinderence they are
To his dwelling in there
He opens the windows
Beaming in more light
Showing me the things
That aren't pleasing in his sight
He's cleaning the temple
For He desires to live there

He walks around the heart
Of my home
Cleaning and changing
The things that don't look right
He gives me instructions
Speaking all things in love
I need to listen for he is so kind
To be working for my good
And my peace of mind
If He says I don't like
This piece of furniture you
Have right in here
I need to say,
"Lord help me remove it.
Not, but Lord that's my favorite chair"
I better just listen and do as He says
For He's cleaning the temple
To use for our good

Jesus I invite you
Past the door
Into the walls of my house
Make this place your home
We'll live together
In peace and harmony
And my days won't be
Spent living alone
You'll be there beside me
To answer my prayers
And when people ask me
The secret of my contentment
I will say
He's cleaning the temple
From the inside and out
He's cleaning the temple
Within and without
He shining the light of His word
Into my heart
And Jesus is dwelling
In the heart of my home

Septsong, How can you make something perfect better?  I can't carry a tune in a bucket and it flows in song. How sweet your spirit and I am so glad you did as you were lead, for your song sings a message of our love honoring God through "cleaning our temple",
where He dwells.

"You'll be there beside me
To answer my prayers
And when people ask me
The secret of my contentment
I will say
He's cleaning the temple
From the inside and out
He's cleaning the temple
Within and without
He shining the light of His word
Into my heart
And Jesus is dwelling
In the heart of my home"

This wonderful poem/song is so obviously inspired by His love and perfect as it is, from a heart that is already shiny clean with love.  Beautiful! love, ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

I can hear the choir as I read this Sept.  As I start my morning chores, this will be running through my mind....and I will be trying a little harder to "unclutter" things.  Bonnie

This is beautiful.  Isn't it wonderful that God desires to live in us?
We are the temples "made without hands".
Excellent job relating this that the Holy Spirit has given you.

-Grace is God's giving of what is not deserved
while mercy is God's withholding of what is deserved-

My dear when the Lord gives you inspiration like this, it is complete! Far be it from us to correct what He's given. (besides there is nothing to correct here)
This is perfect, and beautiful! The only think I would like to point out is a typo I think in the 4th line from the bottom.
"He shining the light of His word"
I think the "HE" should be "He's."

This is a shining example of what the Lord can do for us, if we're willing to let Him.

Thank you all, you all are so kind. I read this at church tonight with a little bit of a revision, nothing to change the meanings behind it though. Now I need to work on the music to it. Ideas welcomed.

I have to agree with WhtDove. When He gives us something there's no improving on it. This is the time when He is cleaning out these living temples. For as His word says, He's coming back for a bride without spot or wrinkle. How wonderful that you were obedient and wrote this down. I'm sure it will touch many that you may never even be aware of.
Be blessed, Juls
