Religious blues
                        -------------------

My heart’s desire is for fellowship
With those who call on you.
So I went down to the vineyard
And sat down on the pew.
We watched a new age video
           Of  evil, gloom and dread!
I thought we’d lift up Jesus
But I was given this instead.
I went down to another vineyard
            I thought, “I might as well”…
From their mouths came smoke and fire
Screaming , “sin, and death, yes Hell”!
My soul did ache for fellowship
My heart had hit the ground,
I wanted no one with me
My expectations had let me down.
Then I heard FAITH came to town,
To “come” and join the bash.
But the only faith they talked about
             Was only faith in cash.
I was given gall for my thirst
And a stone instead of bread,
I went home and wept all night
             Lying on my bed.
“my God my God where are you?”
              don’t you see my tears?
My life’s been eaten by religion
              For O’ so many years.
“My child” He said, “give me your hand
my child give me your trust,
keep your eye’s fixed on ME,
come now let’s make a bust!”

Didn't understand the meaning of the last word, "bust".  Some places of worship seem cold, but like they say if you ever find the perfect church, don't join or it will no longer be perfect.

Sandgrain,
I'm no poet promise! I put it in there because I couldn't find another word that Rhymed (shallow huh?). Eleven years I left the Church after my first year of coming to Christ, we made a bust! OUTA THERE!!! Don't have time for theologies of men, their programs, issues, and debates or causes. Our call is TO HIM, I follow what I feel my heart's calling is as long as it agrees with Christ. My fellowship consists of the company of two or three individuals gathered in His Name and ya know what? It's the best! Because we just glory In Him, thats all I want to do. What a treasure He is!

Great writing Faces, it brings up a problem that many have been faced with, but, He will hear our prayers and pleas no matter where we are.  Bonnie

Bless you Faces,  Good fellowship right here. My original reason for having stopped by.(I do a lot of reading, not much writing poetry, keep waiting on the Lord to bless me with that talent,  )

Your expressions of neglect have me in tears... I am happy that you found a home where you can feel a kindred spirit with God.

LighthouseBob,
Since I bought this computer I'm going places I've never been before and I have found fellowship so sweet again. I feel less alone in my feelings, and pouring them out has helped me. Thank you brother for your kind words, In His Name
