Western Whailing Wall

Here we stand
So tall and proud;
Most in prayer
With faces bowed.
Here in front of this ancient wall.

Many weep, eyes
Filled with tars,
Shed for the sorrow
Of long past years,
Here in front of this ancient wall.

Shed for the fall
Of a temple grand
In the city of Jerusalem
In the Holy Land,
Here in fron of this ancient wall.

Mournfully, swaying
To and froe
In front of this wall
Chanting soft and slow
Here in front of this ancient wall.

I wrote this when I went to Israel last year.

Wonderful poem littleC, your words have painted an incredible picture of the wall, and the emotions that are felt there.  Welcome, hope I see more from you soon.  Bonnie

Thank you for sharing... I hope you will be back and share more of your experiences in Isreal.  Since I will probably never be able to visit on my own, your poetry will be as close as I will get.  Bob <><

Welcome!  I'm glad to see you join. I really enjoyed this poem! I hope to see many more from you in the future.

If I may say, it was well written, but check your spelling.

Thanks for your nice coments!

Thanks!  I doubt that my poetry could even come close to explaining the true wonder of Israel.

Thank you!  I know about the spelling.   That has never been a strong point for me.  English is the subject I do best in, but spelling always gave me difficulty.

Thanks once more to all of you!!!
