"But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me."
                    --I Corinthians 15:10

I am what I am
     By His grace
The man you see here
With the smile on his face

And because I have
     His grace divine
I'll not waste it
I'll let my light so shine

I will work hard
     To give love
To share with you
His great strength, coming from above

I am what I am
     Not for me
But by His grace
His love is what you see

Sven; You've done a glorious job with this scripture. "I'll let my light so shine"!
and that's just what you did here! ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Very nicely done!  If everyone understood that verse, as personalized as you, what a wonderful world this would be. Thank you.

Thanks to you all. . . this verse has always meant a lot to me. . . I discovered it when I was back in 11th grade and it has always done wonders for my self-confidence.

"But by the grace of God, I am what I am. . ."  makes you think. . .

Thank you all again my friends. . .

This is stunning. How much better the world would be if we could accept the I am what I am.
Thank you for posting it.

Wonderful writing here!!!  Lovely verse and so true for us all.  You have exceeded the challenge my friend.  Thank you for taking it.

I have to reiterate what everyone else has said here. This is wonderful verse and your heart certainly shined through it!
