(I respect Becky, and her sharing her beliefs about hell with us, but what I belive is quite different. It is not my intention to start a debate here--but I would like also to share what I believe to be the truth about the matter.  David)

What is death anyway?
It e'er means seperation,
In whatever sense it's used
Not just an annihilation.

In the context of this life
By James it is truly said,
"..the body without the spirit"
(thus separated)"is dead."

And what about death to sin
By those who are here, still living,
It is a ceasing, separation from sin
Needed unto the salavation Jesus is giving.

And thus, "The soul that sinneth, it shall die"
What is the meaning of this?
Does it mean, the lost are zapped
Nevermore to exist?

Again remember the meaning of death
It simply means separation,
And so the soul, which does not cease
Exists with God's alienation.

Hell is not "a flash in the pan"
Of this I am truly convinced,
Jesus said,"There the worm dieth not,
Nor are Hell's fires e'er quenched."

But just as lasting as eternal Life
Everlasting punishment is said to be,
Not a ceasing to existed
But without God, eternally.

Thus the ultimate consequence of sin
Is not forfeiture of existence,
But being doomed to a Godless realm
With not recourse for Godly assistance.

That my friend, is the horror of hell
A nightmare that never ends,
To which the sinner condemns himself
To which a Just God thus sends.

Because sin's price is far too great
Than any would care to take on,
Be convicted, salvation to seek
Now offered through God's dear Son.

[Note , if any would like to do more research on this important subject, I urge you to not take my word for it, or anyone elses word--but study it out for yourself(Romans 14:5b "...let each be fully persuaded in his own mind). I would be glad to give a list of scriptures, upon which I base the thoughts of this poem.  I can be contacted at deleeme@hotmail.com     Thank you,  David]

David; I am so amazed at your gift for writing beautiful poetry and at the same time utilizing sound scriptural teaching.
This is a work of inspirationa art! Thank you for the wonderful teacher that you are.

that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

David,
Your poem is scriptural and truth as I know it. Very well written and shared with boldness, humility and love. I respect and admire you as a pastor and teacher of the Word. Let me just "amen" your poem, expressed in love with truth as from the Word of God.

What a dismal, gloomy, and morbid thought for my spirit to dwell in such a place as Hell for eternity being seperated from the One in whom I love.   Brings tears to my eyes to think of all those who do not know the Lord.  Encourages me even more to tell someone about the Love of Jesus.  Just a few of my thoughts after reading... Amazing David, again you beautifully pen an incredible message.  Existence without Him is about the saddest thought I can imagine.  As Ellie said, what an excellent teacher you are!  Bonnie

It speaks of a second death...the death of a soul. We will not have an eternity where evil exits.

Rev. 2:11  Rev. 20:6  Rev. 20:14 Rev. 21:8

There will be nothing that offendeth. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. For flesh cannot inherit the kingdom of God.
When a person dies their soul return to him who gave it, then comes the judgement. Not all will overcome. Satan is already sentanced to die. He will exist no more. Ezek 28:19

Here are a few more scriptures on this: Psalms 69:28  Matt. 13:37-43  Ex. 32:33
Duet. 9:14 & 29:20

Rev. 3:5   Rev. 21:4
(the smoke) Rev. 19:3

In Rev. 21:4...no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain....What would all this crying and death be for if it wasn't for the death of those souls who perished?

The body is one thing, the soul is something else. Those two are seperate. The soul being (self) the spiritual body. The spirit being our thought process.
