Lord, You have
filled my life
with those
I love.
I thank You
for the Grace
You give,
to see beyond
the faults
into the heart.

How human
we all are.
How frail and
wounded.
We are all in need
of grace to grow,
beyond the mundane
and earthly self.

Blind me to the faults
that I see in others
and myself.
Quiet my soul
enough that I can
hear the need,
and see the wounds.

Grant me the power
to see deep into the
heart, where You dwell.
Where the beauty
of Your creation lies.
that I might only
see through the
eyes of Your Love.

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Ellie,

This was wonderful writing.  What a display of devotion and love.  He has given us all so much . . . sometimes I think we forget to give thanks.  Appreciate the reminder!

Dear Sis,
This is a lovely prayer & meditation.  How easily we are blinded by our feelings, misdirected in our thoughts, and our eyes fail us because we don't see beyond the surface of things and not try to see the good in the heart--thus we become less caring ourselve- when often we need to be( and other also may need from us) even more love to over come.  This is a beautiful statement of intend-a prayer that surely would bring blessing to many.

What a heart you have, ellie!! Your poetry and how you treat others, imo, is a perfect standard of "that I might only see through the eyes of Your Love". Loved this poem.

"Blind me to the faults
that I see in others
and myself.
Quiet my soul
enough that I can
hear the need,
and see the wounds."

This is my prayer too. Thank you for generating this thought and prayer within me. Marcy

What a beauty, Ellie!  Our own hurts are biggest obsticles to seeing anothers true need.  I have a plaque in my kitchen that says, "People need loving the most when they deserve it the least."  I tend to think this is true for all, and your lovely poem asks for that ability.  Thank you.

If only we all could feel the same way, and see the good in others, and not just the bad. . .

Excellent. . .

Oh Ellie,
How your sweet heart shines through in this little beauty.  And may I remember these words of yours always.  Such a beautiful prayer.  Bonnie

Sister Ellie,
What a beautiful, thoughtful prayer tempered with such wisdom. We all need to be more patient with others and ourselves and we need to go to the SOURCE of our stength for the help we need daily. WELL DONE!

Ellie,
This is so beautiful, I picture a wall hanging with this verse inscribed. It is so meaningful to me and to all
