I was up late last night Conversing with my very dear friend She told me about herself Where she began and hopes to end We read poetry till three in the morn Laughed and cried We spoke of changes in our lives And of her grandpa who had died I was up late last night being blessed by my hungry friend Her belly rumbling for food Yet she hung out with me till the end Making plans for the weekend, she told me of her dad, a gift from heaven How such a great man he is Sitting there cleaning his Smith & Wesson I was up late last night praying for my tall, beautiful, friend thanking Abba for the gift of a garden so precious, that we take careful time to tend every real weed that tries to choke every real rose that blooms in the sun using spiritual Round Up and if I really have to, some spiritual Weed B-gone. |

Well hey there! Sounds like a late night blessing. I love the spiritual 'round up' and the spiritual 'weed-b-gone.' Great way to put it Brandon! I'll have to remember those. Suprised they haven't made a T-shirt of that yet  Not sure how to take the dad thing. Is he abusive to her and you're being sarcastic or what? |

The line about the father is something only she would probably understand. She is coming to my house, her and her dad, to spend the night on their way through to Texas. Well her dad is old fashioned and thinking something is going on b/c he and she are coming to "meet" my parents and such. Well after her (first) previous boyfriend her dad said that any other guy that wants to be with his daughter is going to have to have a long heart to heart talk with him as he is cleaning his Smith & Wesson. Kind of a humorous thing. He is a great dad from what she is telling me. I know she is a great gal. Must be from her upbringing. J~ |
