Could I but shatter
The adamant wall
Which you have raised
About you!
To crush into dust each stone
Of which its height
Is built.
And cast on surging winds,
The dust itself,
That no mote should linger as a sign
Of barriers
That once had stood
In grave, unyielding strength...
And then,
The way cleared once again,
To raise my eyes to God,
And stride in silence
To your arms.

"...and cast on surging winds

the imagery is wonderful!  Thank you!

Rex: Those nasty walls we build to keep from getting hurt, and all they do is keep out the love we so desperately need.
Hoe beautifully you put these sentiments
to verse. ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Sometimes it seems impossible to tear down those walls, but once done, oh, the wonders that we find.  This is simply beautiful Rex.  Bonnie

Those walls...how wonderful if no one felt the need to build them.  As in Jehrico, life is so much sweeter once they're down.  Beautiful in its simplicity.  Linda
