The waves are fierce
far out from shore,
but as they kiss
the beach,
they change the
patterns
of the sand
and wash away
each print,
so that I feel,
I'm the very first,
who walked upon
the sand.

Like Your Love,
that washes all
the pain,
and all the sin away.
Your Love is like
the ocean,
that changes
the patterns
of this heart of
mine.
There the footprints
of Your Love,
are the only ones
this soul of mine
need know.
< !signature-->

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Oh Ellie - What a beautiful, tender piece you have written here.  What a gentle scene you have brushed with your pen.  Absolutely lovely.  Bonnie

It is beautiful, and I see the ocean as I read it, and I see the beautiful soul that wrote it.

I have never viewed the ocean in the light of God's Love before....  What beautiful metaphores you have penned about God's washing away our sin and pain like the waves of the ocean.  The next time I visit the ocean I will be reminded of your poem and God's Love for me.  Thank you,  Bob <><

I always knew there must be a special reason for watching the washing away of my own footprint...and now you've put it to words.

How can I thank you?

Very lovely Ellie...soft and tender. Enjoyed it very much.

Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility.

Ellie,
Your beautiful poem and it's lovely message reminds me of 2 Corinthians 5:17:
"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
Thanks Sis for the lovely reminder-set in lovely imagery.   David
