As I waded through the busy creek,
Crayfish scurried away,
Water rushed over the mossy rocks,
As I thought about yesterday.

The sky was a soft, turquoise blue,
White fluff was scattered througout,
Sunbeams reaching from heaven,
Were unable to reach the doubt.
Trees were gently swaying,
Breezes whispered in my ear,
"I've got her, she's got her wings now,"
She's safe with me, my dear.
As the hours slowly passed,
Storm clouds grew in the west,
The clock was striking the hour -
It was time to lay her to rest.
Walking into the crowded church,
Clouds parted, revealing His light,
Stained glass windows were glowing,
And I knew that she was alright.
I could see her walking hand in hand
With the Lord, discussing her game,
Telling Him all about her clubs,
Calling her chipper and "hand" wedge the same.
I could picture her new robe swirling,
Her wings gently moving with ease,
Her graceful stride still with her,
On His green, which has no fees.
And as they carried her up the aisle,
We said our last goodbyes,
Trying not to spill the tears,
She would not want to see in our eyes.
Stepping out of the oaken doors,
Raindrops guided my way,
Walking slowly away from her...
The saddest part of the day.

But today, the sun is shining,
And I know she's got His hand,
And right now she's probably dancing,
As she hears His angelic band.
I'm sure she's up there smiling,
As she's embraced with His sweet love,
Taking just one more mulligan,
On her favorite course up above.

Thanks for the great memories Marge, I'll take a mulligan for you every time I play...but, it will never be the same.   Godspeed old friend.

Dearest Bonnie: A beautiful and endearing tribute to your Marge. How blessed she was to have you for a friend. I know she has read this poem to the Angels and they shed a joyful tear with her as she tells them of her
dearest friend. The golfing Angels, that is. Love, Ellie< !signature-->

the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song

Bonnie it was hard to not let tears well up while reading this. I always wondered why it seems to rain on the days we have to let our loved ones go.

This really touched my heart!

Your writing is very inspirational, finding the good at a very sad time and recording it with the flair and beauty that seems to flow from you.  Thanks for sharing.

Ah Bonnie, your friend had a wonderful life because you shared in it.

Her family would love this.  I hope that you give them the original, framed, with golf clubs as a signature...

You did this one with style and flair...she knows, and is smiling down on you...

Bonnie...a very beautiful piece!  Heartfelt, melodious, sad, and inspirational.  Excellent.

Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility.

With reading most of your poems it seems you have lost many in your life, especially this year.  Your poems help you heal, that is very obvious.  Another great tribute.
