By placid blue-green waters A snow-white heron stands. His silhouette against the sun-- His shadow on the sands. And wafted on a quiet breeze, That sweeps the summer by, A lone white feather flutters Like the whisper of a sigh! When the dusk bedims his outline And heralds the coming night, He will scatter his dreams about him And spread his wings in flight. |
