You've heard of the Eye of the Storm
Surrounded by havoc and harm,
Yet remaining perfectly peaceful
Untouched, as though it were charmed.

Such fascinating circumstance
That Peace can be be circled by Pain,
And yet no fear is engendered
For Serenity there doth remain.

As we would make application
May I speak, so to Spiritualize
And say it suggests yet Another
Who is the "I AM" of all eyes.

Christ is our "I AM" of life's storms
Tho' rough billows may be all around,
As the Master who slept through a Tempest
In Him, true calmness is found.

He gives us a peace within
Unlike the world's ever known,
Tho' beyond our comprehension
'Tis peace mid the storms a blowing!

Like the disciples soon found out
With Christ, at peace we can be,
For he has the power to quell dangers
And bring sweet Serenity.

He says "I am e'er able
All things to be to you,
Fear not! For I am with you
My Peace for you, is true!"

In Christ is the Storm's "I AM"
The true haven from all alarms,
For the LORD God is our refuge
There beneath His Everlasting Arms!

"In Him true calmness is found"
David: I love this, the storms of life are everywhere and the only peace is in Him. You have once again created an inspirational work of art and as always heightened my awareness to greater faith. Love, Sis

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Along with the account which you reference, I am reminded of Elijah hearing from God from a still small voice in the midst of harsh winds, earthquakes, and fire.
The challenge at times is to keep our fucus on Him in the midst of our storms.  It is re-assuring to know that whatever we are in need of Jesus said, "I am!" Thank you for the good read.

David - How beautiful, how inspirational, and oh, how often I've found the serenity in the eye of the storm.  This is wonderful.  Bonnie

A very moving poem, very heartfelt message.  I have a poem of the very same message, close title.  Seems to be a topic on the hearts of many Christians.  Well written and thought out.  God bless you and your writing.
