Peace be still my weary spirit
Know that he is God.
For that's what his precious word states.
But what have I become?
A broken man?
A mighty warrior?
Can you tell me please
Am I still clay to the potter?
Or am I just stone
For the chissel and hammer?
Am I still moldable?
Does it still matter?
Is this noise I'm making
A sweet sound of joy
Resonating in your ears?
Or are you just annoyed?
Do I groan and groan
As a modern day Jonah?
Lord I don't want to meet Shamu
Point the way, I'm leaving for "Ninevah"!

Ah JP

"Am I still clay to the potter?
Or am I just stone
For the chissel and hammer?"

I would take some clay
and mold it with my hands,
see what you become
a viable, loving man...

I would take this stone
and with time and chisel fine,
raise up before the beauty beneath
a soul, serious and kind...

either way I've made you,
either way you're mine,
so do not question my technique
but know you'll stand the test of time.

Hi again, Nicely written.

Phil 3:13; "Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus."
v.14; "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

We just do the best we can and keep the faith for we will know in the end, the prize will have been worth it.  Blessings, Marcy

LOLOL I love the end here! I don't want to meet Shamu! That really made me laugh

We are all still shapeable. If we get in the way, He has ways of humbling us, until we give it to him. I think we are constantly shaped and molded. Then we fall and crack it again. Once again it's back to work for Him.
Wow! Now that I think about it like this, His work is never ending with us is it?

It matters, broken man? I think not! Humbled yes. Learning? Always!

You gave me a lot to think about with this one    Thanks!

I found your reference to Shamu simply humorous.  All that I can suggest is...

DON'T GET ON THE WRONG BOAT!!!

Well ladies and gents,

This was just a fun poem that I loved writing.  I am glad that all of you loved the line naming Shamu.  It was meant to make the whole post light.  Thank you all for your posts.
