Listening to every heart

Sunday's Thanks

Is it truly within me, to be some devine inspiration
to a young or old heart, and cause some quick sensation;
to be a mentor very wise, and leave with loving heart
sage advice in trust given, or such that I may impart...?

For I've never found much myself in people my own age;
I find far wiser words in some young, and definitely the old sage,
you'll find me with the grandkids, or people older than I
listening and hearkening, to hear their words and sighs...

I guess that is why I'm away from the folks that are my age
why, I've already lived their lives, they've nothing for my stage
so I take the new and young, and revere greatly the older ones
and yet pray God my shine strengthens all under his great Son!

Sunshine, this is so touching and heartfelt. I especially liked the last line.
Just beautiful. Well done!!   Marcy

Sunshine - This is so wonderful.  I feel the same way....Kids are so open and honest, and older people have so much wisdom, I love listening and learning from them.  I'm sure your "shine" strengths all who you touch.  Bonnie

Ah Bonnie, thank you...I do work with some people who live in a perpetual rain forest, and while a typical rain forest is a lush, tropical, lovely area...all some people can see is the boggy floor.  However, I'll do my best to warm things up for them!  Thank you!

He does have a few years on us...And still
He approaches us as gentle as a child.
You do illuminate the SON through your Spirit inspired poetry to old and young alike.

This is a wonderfu poem, I can relate to what you are saying. Teenagers are my favorite. They are so full of life and laughter. Thanks, Sunshine. Love, Ellie

 Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Thank you all.  I do get along with people my age...I just find the old and young a little more interesting... {~,^}< !signature-->

Sunshine I seem to find myself the same way. I used to be the youngest in the crowd, and then when I got older, found myself the oldest in the crowd. LOL
Easier to talk with? Not sure...but whatever it is, God can still work    Relate to this one.

LOLw/you, Whtdove...always the youngest, always the oldest...now I'm becoming known as a mentor...so I make sure I have plenty of haircoloring because, with His help, I'm going to be a good-looking mentor...[can't hide the crinkles around the eyes...wouldn't want to...too much character there...]

Have a great day!
