I AM NOT A PARTIME GOD

I spend alot of my day
dwelling on the wrong in my life
coming before you now and then
asking for your help Jesus christ

I know that you are real and true
and I pray to you from time to time
life just makes it so hard for me
I wonder if I will ever just be fine

I thank you when I see a miricale
placed right before my eyes
I watched the King of Kings
and I cried when you hung there and died

I try to love my neighbors
I say "hello" if I happen to see them along my way
I donate my old clothes once a year
and I send caring cards on holidays

Child you don't know me
for I live not in your heart
you may claim I am real and true
but you never allowed me to be a part

I am not a partime God
that you can just come to when things go wrong
I need you to accept me
and love me completely your whole life long

I can't turn your wrongs to rights
if you truly don't believe I can
I can't guide and direct you
if on my love you refuse to stand

You say that you know me
and that you live by my will and way
but your so caught up in self
you never repent when you do pray

How can I forgive you
if your sins you can't speak before Me
you will always feel chained and bound
until you bow down to me in honesty

I have a love so wonderful
that I long so to share with you
but you must open up your heart
and give me a true door to come through

Then I can start the change
that can bring true joy and happiness
for if you continue to walk alone
the devil will make your life less and less

So come to me all the time
believe in me sight unseen
pray and seek me always
for I am the keeper of your dreams

Hey Rose,

I loved how you ended this poem...Keeper of your dreams.  For God really is the keeper of our dreams.  I think this poem is written rather well.  There are a couple of parts in the middle where I felt like I had to drudge through it, but you finished it so strong that I almost completely forgot about those.  At least you know how to end it...I always have a problem finshing strong.  So be blessed.  I thoroughly enjoyed this and the theme is great...for it is so true with all of us...one time or another.

Rose, I love the honesty you share and your wisdom to know that He won't settle for less than total surrender, for only then can He bless and change us into all the beauty He intends. You've done a beautiful job of getting that message across. Ellie

Rose, What a great message in your lovely poem. Sometimes, true humility before Him, pouring out to Him, refreshes us with His love. Such a honest, humble poem. Thanks, Marcy

You always seem to write something that I can relate to. It always makes me stop and think. I love the end of this also! It reminds me of the verse, where Jesus turns and says, I never knew you. Now that's something to really think about.

I liked this very much.
