I was born a mountain climber
I'm always fighting
The forces of gravity
I'm always looking for
A good place to put my feet
I'm always looking up
To what lies ahead
Occasionally I catch a glimpse
Of what lies below me
Forgetting for a minute
Fright overtakes me
And then I tell myself
Look up
Toward your goal
Eventually you will reach
The summitt
And with great appreciation
You will take joy
That there was one
Whose name kept you from tumbling
Down the mountain steep
Who was ever faithful
To provide a steady rock
For your weary feet.

This was a rewrite of an old poem I found today.

Hi Septsong!
"That there was one whose name kept you from tumbling down the mountain steep, who was ever faithful to provide a steady rock for your weary feet." I love this line! Encouraging words, good poem Septsong!

Septsong - What a beautiful, encouraging, inspirational poem.  Sometimes those mountains seem overwhelming, but somehow, He always gets us to the top!  I love this.  Bonnie

Dearest friend; Wow! Did I ever need these words today, as I continue to job hunt. Keep my eyes on Jesus as He shows me His Will in my life, is your message to me. Thank you for your words of encouragement, written so beautifully as always. Love, Ellie

I love this! I love the analogy here of the mountain and life. I need to remember this one ALL the time! To look briefly down, but always back up! Thank you!!!
