Pain in my head, with every beat of my heart
I just don't want to go any longer
Who are you to be my judge, my jury
So on to a new life, well I try to start
Weaker I become, as I am striving to be stronger
I am fooling no one but Me.

Standing in a puddle of my remorse
Super duper pity party, oh how pitiful
but this is where I feel the most secure
I must chart myself a new course
Even though I may struggle with my flesh's pull
I must not fear, stare them down till I am pure

Hearted and I have surrendered all that is me
Into the hands of a greater existence
My fears melt away, upon me new strength
So I stare in the face of a diety
No longer worried about my pentance
I am have true security, I shall not sway

Hi jfreak, Welcome to Spirituals.
You have just shared with us your broken spirit and heart. I know about that and I know about self-pity, afterall, we are humans. So, having said that, let me add
this is a forum of the sweetest, loving people you can find, without exception. Continue sharing and I know you will find comfort among the ladies and men of this forum......for you see, Jesus lives within each of us and He hurts because you hurt. You hurt, we hurt. Keep on sharing.  marcy

Welcome, and honor us with more fine verses such as this as time allows.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome...BUT if you notice the date of how long I have been a member, I am not new here at all.  I used to post a lot, but I just don't post that much any more.  As far as being a Christian and all, I have been saved for seven years now and alot of stuff I write, that seems dark, I pull from a darker period of time in my past.  Don't worry about me.  God is really doing a wonderful work in me right now.  You two just know I appreciate your kind words.  If you would like to read some other things of mine, go to Prose and find "Little Red Shoe".  It is about two months old, and the sequel will be posted hopefully tomorrow.  Well thank you.

Brandon it's so good to see you!  I miss you around here. I read that story, and I'm glad you're finally getting a sequel to it out. Please let me know when you post it ok?

As for this poem, I can relate, it may be bout your past days, they seem to be my present ones. Though I'm slowly getting back into it.  And I know God is so GOOD! Man, I'm glad He never gives up on us.

You really brightened my day, by peeking in here! Thanks

Becca,

I am so glad that I was able to bless your day.  You keep the faith and I will be saying a lil prayer for you.  I will try to post the sequel later today.  No promises.  The title though, so that you know, is "Patrick".  Anyway, God bless and thanks for the comment on the poem.
