Could Be Anywhere...

Walking the Talk?
Have you hugged
a hobo today?
Have you spoke
to a scooter tramp?
Have you kissed with holy kiss
the whore at the corner?

Have you fed
someone hungry?
Have you blessed
one unfortunate?
Have you spoke the Gospel
to the “least” today?

Have you used
the light gifted?
Have you shown
the fruit of deeds?
Did others see Jesus
in your life today?

Have you prayed
for the poor?
Have you blessed
the sick and hurt?
Have you taken the time
as Jesus showed us to do?

Dear B; I can't think of a day that I don,t need this reminder. Thank you for the reminder of the basic truth of being a Christian. Ellie

Dan,
This poem moved me to tears. Thank you dear friend. This very prayer I read from you in testifying to our group last night stirred my heart and I said forgive me Lord. Thank you for this one and what a beautiful way to remind us, to stay in His will, His humble perfect will. I love you my dear Brother in Christ Jesus.

This is my favorite poem from you!  marcy

Very profound questions here! Sure makes one stop and re-evaluate what they're doing. Excellent reminder!

Thank you each for the replies.
It is questions that carry with
me while out there.  Just yesterday
I was waiting out side our maildrop
and a guy went by to the booze store
next door singing his head off on his
bicycle.  Scruffy looking guy, tatoos,
obviously not bathed for awhile... I
found my eyes slidding off him as though
if i didn't look i wouldn't have to
recognize him as human....
Dad had other ideas...the dude came out of the booze store with what was not his first of the day and i saw that he had bought
a couple of individual cigerretts.  I was
thinking that this dude had enough cash for
his bottle of port...then he had enough for a pack of smokes instead of just a couple at
a dime apiece...
the dude struggled back onto his bike and
spent a good four minutes search for his
matches.  This was right in front of our
van and i was still uncomfortably trying to
ignore this obviously deranged individual.
lol then the untinkable...because i didn't respond and speak to this man...Dad had him
approach me and ask for a light.  My heart melted and i repented of my stupidity and
struck up a conversation with the gentleman.
Oh how we tend to live in our safety zones!
God is telling us all it is time for break-out!...have you hugged your hobo today?

Amen Dan,
Your follow up was almost as heartwarming as your poem. I appreciate you and your concern for the other person. Thank you for sharing that message.       marcy
