dear god...
you made me as I am, yet I listen to the sound of the rolling thunder. you are unhappy with me again. i was in a safe harbor, not a utopian existence true. but i was not chased by wolves. there were no snarling teeth at my heels. get your foot off my throat…get out of my place. i was able to say that from the ‘other-side’ of the door god. now i am naked with wounded body and spirit…how do i feel like a whole person again? i do not let spirits touch my lips, my body is not unclean, but the sound of your thunder is ever increasing and my heart is heavy with dread. what did i do wrong god? why was i born to an existence such as this? am i to pay for someone else’s tainted soul or my own? i cry out on bended knee, why do you turn away as if i were a leper? why do you not hear me, oh lord? have i not cleansed my soul enough for you? you made me as i am but you keep sending the rolling thunder. i pray and you don’t let me sleep.
amen from the misfit junie.

Junie was a bright, melodramatic child who was told that God could not love her.She later learned that God does not make junk and God loves everything He makes!

Magnolia, this is so very sad, but thanks for sharing it and the happy ending.  I never really thought God didn't like me, but I can relate in the fact that I only knew to fear Him for years before coming to really know Him.

ITS WONDERFUL TO SEE THAT EVEN IN THE DARKEST CIRCUMSTANCES JESUS NEVER FAILS US WE FIND HIM AND ACCEPT HIM JUST AT THE RIGHT TIME THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN PLANNED OUT FOR US
THIS WAS A LETTER OF SUFFERING THAT FOUND HIS LOVING MERCIES AND GRACE AT THE END
THANK U FOR THIS SHARE

I remember when I thought God didn't care for me...so long as I knew he cared for other people...

and I remember when I told him it was OK if he didn't love me...as long as he loved my children...

later I learned that he cared for me and loved me...from others...and from my children...

thank you for sharing...

Welcome MagnoliaBlue.
I felt little Junie's pain in this lovely cry for love. "the rolling thunder", what power in those words. We just have to keep reminding ourselves God is on call twenty-four hours a day and He wants us to call out to Him. He is a awsome God and I thank Him for letting little Junie know of His mighty love for her. Such a touching piece. Thanks.

This is so sad when they're told that God can't love them. He loves us all! I'm so glad that she was able to be told, or come to that realization. Thank you for sharing this with us!

I read this again and I can remember a time when I knew that God loved his children. Though when asked, I never realized I hadn't counted myself as one of them.  I do now!

It's so sad that people are taught that God don't love them. Or to be afraid of Him. Once again...I'm glad that realization came around.

How wonderful that Junie came to know what our God is really like. He is love, He is mercy and grace. I was raised to believe that yes He loved me but don't dare mess up, because He had a big ole hammer and I would surely get it. My life was forever changed when I learned the truth, that He didn't expect perfection from me and that I could simply run into His arms. My love to Junie and you as well, Juls
