Everyday I prayed to Him,
Lord help me with this deed,
I'm not sure if I can do it,
With Your help perhaps I'll succeed.

The job had no description,
Experience was not required,
Just plenty of hands-on training,
That didn't stop even when tired.

I had no idea what was in store,
Or what the end product would be,
I just knew I wanted to do my best,
Even though all my work was for free.

For months I pondered the outcome,
Was I sure I could handle this task,
It was much too late to turn back now,
Still...so many questions to ask.

After laboring for hours with worry,
My new job had quickly begun,
Time to find out just how I'd do,
As I cradled my brand new son.

Years have passed in moments,
This boy's now a grown man,
Making his way in this world,
And being the best that he can.

And though we'd like to take credit,
The Lord was there every day,
To guide us in raising our precious boys,
Every single step of the way.

How precious. Oh, I do not like empty
nest syndrome --(  My three boys are grown
also and doing the best they can, too.
OH sigh.

Well written, Bonnie.

Dearest Bonnie; What a terrific way to describe impending motherhood. This poem is a lovely tribute to your boys and they are wonderful, I'm sure, with a sweet Mom like you! Love, Ellie

Very good Bonnie!
With those daily prayers as your job priority, I'm sure you did a fantastic job. You really did a nice job of putting your heart into this. Great poem!

Bonnie, without an instruction booklet, I knew it had to be child rearing. I love how you put this to rhyme! It is a scary thought when you don't have any, awaiting the first one. Once you do it you just do it. I wondered how I was going to handle 2 and then 3, but I just did. With the help of God of course. They just grow so darned fast.

God bless you Bonnie
