Sitting there in the garden,
Feeding chickadees from her hand,
Movement from her dainty wing,
Beckoned the birds to land.
A halo of forget-me-nots,
Entwined with queen Anne's lace,
Softest wisps of golden curls,
Framed this angel's face.
Eyes the color of violets,
As clear as crystal dew,
A smile on her rosebud mouth,
Her gown a soft sky blue.
The sweetest sound from her lips,
As heather tickled her knees,
This cherub's heavenly laughter,
Calling butterflies and bees.
I watch in total wonder,
At this little one at play,
As sunbeams reach to touch her,
She rises to go on her way.
Slowly spreading those precious wings,
She climbs the radiant beam,
Until with ease she's soaring,
Leaving only a gossamer stream.
The last I could see of this cherub,
She was tumbling about on a cloud,
Joining her many little friends,
Their laughter delightfully loud.
As I strained to see her,
Knowing my soul had been restored,
I bowed my head in humble prayer,
And sent my thanks to our Lord.

Dearest Bonnie; I've just spent a few precious moments in heaven as I read your poem. I feel so peaceful and restored. Thank you for that! Your imagination is pure Spirit. Between your Cherubs and my Butterflies, who needs reality!!! You have painted a masterpiece of pure delight with this poem. Love, Ellie
