( I am posting two at a time today- because very soon I will be going on vacation- and out of touch for a couple of weeks--dlw)

The Greatest Investor of all
Is the God of all living things,
Whose invested Himself in Creation
To us all Life He shares, and brings.

To Him all life is beholding
For all things we're in His debt,
But for all He's done, and continues to do
What kind of returns does He get?

Men rarely stop to thank Him
Few assemble to praise His Name,
To many, He's an Anonymous Donor
For some no belief in Him claim.

How sad an indictment of mankind
How meagerly His Love we requite,
The Giver of every Perfect Gift
And all thing of Beauty in sight.

Should His investment be posted on Wall Street
Diminished by His rate of return,
His Business would ne'er last a minute
For His Goodness so grossly is spurned!

My life is not for myself
It's given to me on Loan,
It's His Will and way that matters
I'm bought with a Price, not my own.

I have no control o'er the world
I only can speak for me,
But for all the Goodness You've shown, LORD
May You be Praised Eternally!!!

Dear David; This is so very full of absolute truth and wisdom, sadly so. Lets hope that those of us that do praise and thank Him, make up for it a little. I think it does.
I will miss my good buddy! Love, Ellie

David, Glad you wrote this one. Reminds us all to be more thankful and love Him in prayer, poem and life, one to another so all may know. Bless you for this one. Have a safe trip, (don't forget the nephew's gift).
{smile}. Jim is home and doing fine. Thanks for your many prayers, for prayers brought him through.  Marcy

Poetry-perfect!
As for the content, much too great a treasure for any bank to hold
Excellent and weighty

a wonderful poem, much enjoyed.
I especially loved this verse.

How sad an indictment of mankind
How meagerly His Love we requite,
The Giver of every Perfect Gift
And all thing of Beauty in sight.
